Multifunction-grips

A multifunction-grip is a controlling device for handling a joystick. As its name suggests, it equips the joystick with a significantly greater number of functions by means of additionally installed buttons, thumbwheels or LEDs. Depending on the specification, these further elements are attached to the joystick in different areas. Examples for the placement are on the thumb plate or on the side of the handle. The fact that they can be placed on the handle of the joystick means that certain tasks can be performed more quickly and with greater precision.

Usually, the additional operating options of the multifunction-grip can be freely assigned and thus be adapted to the user’s preferences. It is important that the multifunction-grip can be operated ergonomically like a conventional control handle and an unintentional activation of the supplementary functions can be avoided.
